At Yumisteel, continuous learning is part of our culture. Alina, our training coordinator, organizes an internal knowledge-sharing session every month to keep our sales and engineering teams sharp. This month Jack lead the session on Steel Structure Product Knowledge. Colleagues eager to deepen their technical understanding and translate that into better client conversations.

Jack structured his presentation with clarity and depth. He began with the fundamental definition of steel structures—load-bearing frameworks composed of structural steel members designed to resist forces and transmit loads safely. He then walked us through the major types: portal frames for warehouses, truss structures for large-span roofs, and multi-story frames for commercial buildings. Jack also covered critical technical specifications including material grades (Q235B, Q345B), connection methods (bolted, welded, and riveted), surface treatment requirements (anti-corrosion painting and galvanizing), and fabrication tolerances per international standards like AWS and GB. He emphasized the importance of proper bracing design to resist lateral forces and shared real project case studies to illustrate common pitfalls and solutions.

By the end, our sales representatives gained a much firmer grasp of steel structure fundamentals,from design logic to shop drawing reading and on-site erection sequences. This new confidence allows them to ask sharper questions during client meetings, address technical concerns on the spot, and propose appropriate solutions without always relying on engineering backup.
